Benefits, wellbeing and having fun!

25 January 2023

Since becoming one of the first architects to introduce an early finish on Fridays in 2006, and the first to obtain the Investors in People accreditation in 1997, we have always looked for ways to recognise and reward our colleagues at Pozzoni.

Over the years we have introduced increased holiday entitlement, long service awards, cycle to work schemes and childcare vouchers. In 2017 our employee benefits and social working group was created to continuously look for initiatives to improve engagement, development and reward.

Some of the long-standing initiatives introduced have been; donate a day, an employee assistance programme, alongside initiatives to help improve physical and mental wellbeing including subsidised bootcamp and yoga classes and quarterly walk and talks. We also hold an annual BBQ and a very competitive rounders match in the local park.

In recent years we have recognised the need to improve our benefits for parents and have implemented enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave.

To compliment the permanent benefits, we also hold one-off events such as a self-defence session with a British, European and World champion kickboxer, a chocolate making workshop, kayaking on our local canal and trips to a local inflatable obstacle course to allow the teams to bring out their competitive nature!

We believe that having fun with colleagues whilst at work is really important and one of the hardest times for the business in recent years was the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time we utilised MS Teams, not only for work but also to maintain morale by having weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, competitions at home (such as drawing what you can see from your home office), the Pozzoni fake-away (make your favourite takeaway at home) and physical fitness challenges.

We always strive to look for innovative ways to retain and reward our people, whilst also attracting the top talent to positively impact the practice for our team and our clients.
