Nuffield Hospital – Projects

Nuffield Health selected Pozzoni Architecture for the creation of a new hospital via an architectural design competition. The project evolved through extensive stakeholder consultation to arrive at a truly innovative building type for healthcare.

Its challenging site was located partly within a Conservation Area, and partly adjoining a busy highways network. We were able to orientate patient accommodation facing the leafy, landscaped heart of the site and build inward-looking “hot block” activities, including operating theatres, around the perimeter of the site.

The high-tech floor space includes five operating theatres, an imaging and diagnostic suite, 50 patient bedrooms and 30 consultation rooms. It combines preventative approaches to health and wellbeing alongside the clinical hospital functions, creating a building that supports Nuffield Health’s vision for a “joined-up” approach to healthcare.
