Nuffield Diagnostic Suite – Projects

This project has provided a state-of-the-art diagnostic facility within a Grade II listed building in a central Manchester location. The key challenge was to install five tonnes of sophisticated imaging equipment into the historic building at first floor level, without causing disruption to the occupied floors above and below.

To install the stainless-steel beams needed to create a supporting floor for the MRI and CT equipment, extensive discussion with planning and heritage officers was required. The agreed solution was for the partial removal and reinstatement of the listed façade.

The diagnostic suite was delivered on time and on budget. The result is a facility providing diagnostic, consultancy and ancillary facilities within a historic setting and close to other existing medical facilities.
