Hazel Grove Sixth Form forms part of the Hazel Grove High School campus, an existing mixed secondary school for 11 to 19-year-olds.

Due to the existing building becoming tired with a poor current configuration, the School wanted to create a sixth-form space that students aspire to attend. The proposed refurbishment and vertical extension creates a dynamic and dramatic interior for the pupils. Several extension options were explored but a central vertical extension was taken forward. This creates an interesting central area which allows for a dramatic double height space when first entering the building.

Currently on site, the project focusses on creating fit for purpose classrooms, large open space for assemblies and flexible study spaces. Once complete, the scheme will deliver a reorganised ground floor to deliver eight classrooms, a refectory, kitchen, offices, ICT room and open study area on the ground floor, with a further classroom and study space on the first floor.
