Goffs Oak

Sector: Living

Size: 110 apartments, 78-bed care home
Location: Hertfordshire
Status: In Progress
Internal Team: Andrew Smith

Planning permission has recently been granted for 110 later living apartments and a 78 bed care home in Goffs Oak.

The site has a prominent frontage onto Goffs Lane which, in its former use, was in part occupied by a café operated as part of the garden centre complex and was of significant community value. A residential allocation was subsequently secured through the Local Plan leading to the planning application that will deliver much needed homes and care home beds for the Borough.

The proposals include a series of four pavilion blocks, sitting within carefully landscaped grounds. A fundamental part of our design concept was that the site should appear a seamless extension of the open spaces surrounding it, therefore car parking at grade is kept to a minimum by use of basement car parking to support the sense of an open country landscape. A new restaurant and gym will also be open to the public.
