The Georgian Mill site, which had lain derelict since a fire destroyed the buildings in 2011, has now being transformed with the new ‘Crossings’ development.
With part-funding from Homes England, the accommodation on Lower Bank Street creates 67 new homes in the heart of Macclesfield town. Comprising a mix of high-quality one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, the development offers rent to buy, shared ownership and private rent options across two blocks, including a large open plan communal foyer to work and relax within, plus a social garden room space.
The project won the Civic Society Award 2023 and the LABC North West Award 2023 'Best Large Social Housing Development' category.
