Castlebrook – Projects

An exceptional home for older people with dementia, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. The site, adjacent to a brook and mature trees, has a relaxed and therapeutic outdoor space that is easily accessed by all residents.

This is an exceptional care environment: There is no central kitchen, with all meals prepared in each ‘household’; A ‘high street’ laundrette is a departure from an institutional laundry and an ‘Innovation Hub’ living lab is available for research.

The scheme has attracted nationwide attention for its innovative approach to care delivery; which is enabled by an environment created by the architectural design.
