Birkdale Care Village – Projects

The new Birkdale care village has been designed to offer a vibrant and welcoming environment not just to older people in the area, but the wider community too.

The development will deliver accommodation for more than 100 people, where 24-hour support, including nursing and dementia care, will be provided. These are made up of six households across three floors with each household comprising of 12 spacious suites opening out onto open living, dining and kitchen areas. A four-storey adjoining wing will offer 30 one and two-bedroom independent living apartments with home-like environments.

The communal facilities, both on the ground and first floor, provides a gym, spa facilities, bistro and hair salon and are available for use by the local community and residents alike. A large communal room, with an accessible terrace, also overlooks a landscape courtyard.

Taking inspiration from its surroundings, the new village will feature distinctive design details and materials found in the West Birkdale Conservation Area.
