'Public Housing' Research & Exhibition

18 June 2019

Westhorpe Gardens & Mills Grove has been showcased in the New London Architecture (NLA) 'Public Housing: a London Renaissance' research publication & exhibition.

Our residential and retirement living scheme, for Metropolitan Thames Valley, is a phased regeneration of an existing housing estate in Barnet and is the very first to undertake the Mayor of London’s process for estate regeneration and achieve a successful resident ballot. Sadiq Khan introduced a new policy requiring such ballots be carried out for proposed major estate regeneration schemes involving any demolition of social homes before they can receive City Hall funding.

The research paper explores the resurgence taking place in the provision of new public housing in London and, in addition to research stats and industry expert contributions, contains a project section showcasing some of the City’s latest and most exemplary housing schemes.

The exhibition, held at the NLA Gallery, is open to the public until 18th July.
