Belong, Wigan

We have created a non-institutional building designed to enable and retain the independence of the residents, providing an environment that feels like home alongside village facilities that support the vibrant community of the homes and welcomes the wider community to enjoy the facilities and services on offer.

Belong Wigan has won 'Best Elderly Care Design' at Design and Health International Academy Awards 2010, has been shortlisted for 'Best Interior Design' at UK Dementia Awards 2010, won 'Best Residential Scheme' at RICS North West Awards 2010, won 'Building Excellence Award' from Wigan Borough Council 2010, won 'Best Urban Design' from Wigan Borough Council 2010, was shorlisted for 'Building Excellence Award' at LABC North West Region 2010, was shortlisted for 'Housing Our Ageing Population' at Homes and Communities Agency Award 2010 and was shortlisted for 'Best Elderly Care & Best Interior Design' at Building Better Healthcare Awards 2009.

At the official opening of Belong Wigan, Ian McCartney MP stated "This is a family home, not a residential home."
