Situated within the grounds of Henry VIII’s childhood home, Bisham Abbey has since become one of Sport England’s elite training facilities. As the current facilities and accommodation grew older, Sport England was keen to find ways of upgrading them to meet the needs of today’s elite athletes.

The scheme adds 50 new bedrooms, a restaurant and education and training facilities, built to a high quality and sensitively integrated into the site. This was no mean feat, as the site is a Grade 1 listed scheduled ancient monument, situated within a flood plain, in a conservation area and within the greenbelt.

The result has modernised and secured the future of Sport England’s oldest facility for a new generation of world-class athletes.
