Objectives
Located on the main East Lancs Road from Liverpool to Manchester, in
joint-venture with
Liverpool Land Development Company, this site forms the gateway to the new
Stonebridge development. Our main objective was to provide a scheme which would not
only allow flexibility of unit sizes, but also offer the opportunity for development in phases.
Our View
Working in collaboration with a comprehensive masterplan and design guide, a series
of articulated and modelled elevations were developed to respond to the landscaped
features of the site and to present a positive addition to the front of the site when
viewed from the A580.
Specification of materials and facade detailing was also a key consideration, as Joint Venture
Partner, Liverpool Land Development Company, were keen that this would
set the palette of materials for future developments on the site.
Results
A period of collaborative working with both Liverpool Land Development Company
and the Local Planning Authority allowed St Modwen to submit a planning application
during Autumn 2006. Phase1 of the scheme will be delivered to the market speculatively
for occupation during 2007.
